Harvard Study Lauds Top Performing Women for Building "Portable Skills"

A study from Harvard suggests top-performing women business leaders transition into new jobs more easily than their male counterparts thanks to developing “portable skills.” The report cites women’s talent for building external networks and their ability to assess their fit with the management culture and values at a company before they accept an offer. Findings were reported in the Feb 2008 Harvard Business Review collection titled “Shape Your Workforce for Strategic Success,” which focuses on how to “put the best people in your most important jobs. Then give them the resources to succeed.”
